Martha T. Peddrick E-mail: mpeddrick@ jplegal.net Martha T. Peddrick has been designated by the North Carolina State Bar as a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate and concentrates her work in those areas. She graduated with honors from the University of Delaware. She obtained a Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and spent eight years as a social worker in Greensboro, NC. During that time, she was very active in what was later to become Clara House, a shelter for abused women. She earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Wake Forest University, where she was a member of the Moot Court. She is a member of the Greensboro, North Carolina and America Bar Associations and treasurer of the Greensboro Bar Association. She is also a member of the Greensboro Estate Planning Council and past Secretary of the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. Martha has served on numerous community boards, including the Board of the Carolina Theatre during a time when it was undergoing massive renovations. She has been a member of the Women’s Professional Forum since 1984 and has served on its Board of Directors as well as on the Board of directors of the Women’s Professional Forum Foundation. She was on the initial Board of Friends You Can Count On, now known as Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test. She served six years on the Board of the Greensboro Day School. Martha is currently serving on the Board of the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. She is also active at Elon Law School where she served as a preceptor for first year law students. She is a frequent speaker on estate planning, probate and trusts to professional groups and the community at large. Although originally from Wilmington, Delaware, Martha and her husband, Rob Peddrick, have lived in Greensboro, North Carolina for 39 years. They are now empty nesters, with son, Jonathan, 31 years of age, living and working in Greensboro, North Carolina and daughter, Allison, 21 years of age attending the University of South Carolina.
